The Infection is Spreading in The Walking Dead Escape Tour

The Infection Continues to Spread!!!

The Walking Dead Escape Tour 2014 is in full effect and continues to spread across the country. With creator Robert Kirkman and his imprint Skybound of Image Comics, they have created something truly amazing in The Walking Dead Escape, which began two years ago at the Petco Park in San Diego during San Diego Comic Con 2012. The event would begin here, but would soon venture to other cities. There has been an all out tour this year that was held in Baton Rouge, Philadelphia, New York City, Houston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Hartford, and moving its way back to where it began in San Diego.

The Walking Dead Escape San Diego returns at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con 2014 on Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th.

We were fortunate to attend the very first TWD Escape in 2012 and being Walking Dead fans of both the comic series from the beginning and the successful AMC television series, I can tell you it was truly incredible to see the Walkers come to life. The Walking Dead Escape allows the people to become Survivors where they face their fears to hopefully escape the outbreak and to prevent a bigger spread. The event also allows people to actually become Walkers where they get into full makeup to chase the Survivors. Who will survive? We attended both The Walking Dead Escape 2012 San Diego and The Walking Dead Escape 2013 San Diego where both were not successful to survive.

The tour will continue after San Diego and travel to Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, New Orleans and other cities near you.

Additional tour dates will be announced in the near future. Tickets can be purchased via
www.thewalkingdeadescape.com or www.tickets.com as part of a marketing partnership with

The Walking Dead Escape Is Invading New York City

AMC joins forces again with Skybound, Robert Kirkman's imprint at Image Comics, and Ruckus Sports for the fourth The Walking Dead Escape (www.thewalkingdeadescape.com). The official zombie obstacle course of The Walking Dead will take place at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City on Sat., Oct. 12, in advance of the fourth season premiere of the The Walking Dead on Sunday, October 13th at 9pm ET/PT. Skybound and Ruckus Sports brought the first The Walking Dead Escape to San Diego during the 2012 Comic-Con weekend and AMC joined forces for the 2013 The Walking Dead Escape San Diego. The event allows fans to live out the events from the groundbreaking, Emmy® Award-winning and top-rated AMC series, based on Robert Kirkman's Eisner Award-winning best-selling The Walking Dead comic book series and graphic novels.

The course is open Sat., Oct.12 from 6:45 pm – Midnight. Survivors climb, crawl and slide in an effort to avoid confrontation by hordes of Walkers, while achieving the ultimate adventure on The Walking Dead-themed obstacle course. The Walking Dead Escape is not a race and Survivors are not timed, but the end is near and they must move swiftly. If they're lucky, Survivors will reach the decontamination zone where their level of infection - if any - will be determined by a confidential military scan. Walkers will be transformed into the undead by professional makeup teams and released on the course to haunt the living.

"Coming off the success of The Walking Dead Escape: San Diego in July, we are excited to continue to bring our fans an even bigger and better experience this fall. As promised, we have upped the ante with celebrated and renowned new partner, AMC,” said Liam Brenner, founder of The Walking Dead Escape and Ruckus Sports. "With AMC’s creative prowess, we are confident that this year’s ‘Escape’ events will be the most action-packed and thrilling yet. We know fan expectations are high and we will deliver beyond their wildest imaginations."

"The fan reaction to The Walking Dead on AMC has been truly remarkable and exceeded our wildest expectations. As the number one show on television among adults 18-49, this live experience at The Walking Dead Escape allows these passionate and dedicated fans to actually enter the zombie apocalypse. Judging from the popularity and feedback from The Walking Dead Escape at Petco Park during Comic-Con in July, fans are ready for yet another installment of this amazing event, and this time on an aircraft carrier," said Theresa Beyer, VP of activation and promotion at AMC. "Whether acting as survivors, walkers or spectators, this perilous and immersive attraction allows fans of the show to put themselves in the world they can't get enough of on Sunday nights on AMC."

This year The Walking Dead Escape is elevated with new props, scenes and full The Walking Dead experiences. Fans can participate in this epic adventure; as a “Survivor” racing through the zombie-infested evacuation zone with familiar scenes and props from the show and comic book series; or as a “Walker" in the undead horde.

The Walking Dead Escape San Diego Was Exciting and Exhilarating

San Diego Comic Con was this past weekend and it was another amazing year filled with great excitement and fun. The Walking Dead just celebrated 10 years in the comic series in a big way filled with great events, panels, and signings. One event we were looking forward to returning this year at San Diego Comic Con would be The Walking Dead Escape thanks to Skybound and AMC. We had a blast last year in running through this incredibly big obstacle course going through Petco Park being chased by Walkers and trying to prevent from becoming infected. Unfortunately, I did not make it alive last year, so we had to give it another try to survive.

Thanks to The Walking Dead Escape, we would be able to experience bringing The Walking Dead to life once again.

The Survivors are excited and ready to enter the world of The Walking Dead Escape San Diego.

We have entered a safe zone and are being given instructions.

The outbreak has begun and chaos has come a stir.

Every Survivor for themselves at this point.

With a little month away from San Diego Comic Con, there is one event you do not want to miss especially if you are a Walking Dead fan. The Walking Dead Escape returns to San Diego and this is an event that blew our minds last year. Yes, we went in with the excitement of it bringing The Walking Dead to life for an amazing experience, but when we walked throughout the Petco Park we were left speechless. The size of this event was truly incredible in walking in this large Sports Complex and being surprised by the Walkers lurking in corners catching Survivors off guard.

Last year, whether you were a Spectator, Survior, or Zombie, you received an exclusive The Walking Dead #100 exclusive variant cover or poster. This year will be no exception, especially for the first 8,000 Survivors or Zombies!

The first 8,000 to register as a Walker or Survivor for The Walking Dead Escape San Diego receive a collectable copy of "The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor" by Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga.

This special edition novel is presented by The Walking Dead Escape San Diego, St. Martin's Press and Skybound, which will not be sold in stores.

The event allows fans of Robert Kirkman's Eisner Award-winning comic book series and graphic novels to live out the events in the pages of the groundbreaking series. Taking place on Sunday, April 21st, at the Wells Fargo Center Complex in Philadelphia, fans can choose between three ways to take part in this epic adventure: Participants can choose to be a Survivor, and race through the zombie infested evacuation zone or participants can choose to be a Walker, who embraces the inevitable and surrenders to the undead horde, or participants can be a Spectator, who watches the apocalypse from sidelines at the Escape Party.

The Walking Dead Escape Experience

The Walking Dead #100 was released last Wednesday, July 11th and it was a great time for The Walking Dead fans of both the comic series and AMC television series. In honor of the release of the 100th issue, Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment would create something really big and exciting, The Walking Dead Escape.

The Walking Dead Escape was held on July 11th - July 14th. We had been looking forward to this experience ever since we heard about it, which is why we had to do it on the first day. The Walking Dead Escape was a huge obstacle course that used the Petco Park in San Diego during the San Diego Comic Con 2012.

There were three ways that you could join in on the fun, by either being a Survivor, Walker, or Spectator. We wanted to be Walkers, but the sign ups would sell out very quickly. It came to no surprise because those participants would work with Greg Nicotero and his team, KNB EFX to become a Zombie in the outbreak. Survivors would be crucial for this run because they would be required to avoid the outbreak as best as they could throughout this huge run in Petco Park that was taken over. The last way to participate would be to sign up as a Spectator that allowed people to see the whole event with Survivors trying their best to stay alive and not be infected.

The Walking Dead Escape would break up into 20 minute intervals for different groups to run through the course. This would be our run:

The Walking Dead #100 is the Best Selling Comic of the 21st Century

Robert Kirkman's Eisner Award-winning The Walking Dead comic series for Image Comics/Skybound reached its milestone 100th issue and instantly sold out of its 383,612 initial orders on July 11th, the same day it was released, effectively becoming the best-selling comic book in initial orders for any publisher since 1997, when Image Comics/Top Cow's The Darkness #11 was released. The Walking Dead, created and written by Kirkman with art by Charlie Adlard, featuring 13 variant covers for the 100th issue — all sold out — has been the talk of San Diego Comic-Con with a series of events celebrating its release. Kirkman is a partner in Image Comics, the first person invited to join the comic book industry's premier publisher of creator-owned comics since its inception twenty years ago.

"This is a remarkable achievement," said Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson. "It's extremely uncommon, if not flat-out rare, for a comic book to see a sustained increase in sales following its first issue, but The Walking Dead steadily climbed up and up since its launch in 2003, and we couldn't be more proud of Robert, Charlie and the whole Walking Dead team."

"The Walking Dead continues to greatly exceed all my expectations in all forms," said Robert Kirkman. "I am especially excited for what this means for comics as an industry, that this is an independent comic hitting that number." Kirkman continued, "The future of comics couldn't be brighter as more and more readers are embracing new ideas in a big way."

On Wednesday night, Hyundai, Future US, and Kirkman's Skybound imprint at Image Comics unveiled the Kirkman-designed Zombie Survival Machine from a transformed Hyundai Elantra Coupe. On Thursday, Skybound and Ruckus Sports unveiled The Walking Dead Escape: San Diego, an obstacle course where anyone could live the experience of being a zombie apocalypse survivor and effects whiz Greg Nicotero and team transformed participants into one of the undead.

Kirkman will give away a Hyundai Elantra GT wrapped in Charlie Adlard's iconic cover of The Walking Dead's 100th issue, which was on display Friday night at Petco Park during the private The Walking Dead 100th Issue VIP Black Carpet Event. The exclusive party featured a fully immersive recreation of a post-apocalyptic world infested with zombies.

The Skybound booth at Comic-Con, #2729, featured a slew of exclusive merchandise, including The Walking Dead #100 Vannen Watch, The Walking Dead Bloody Michonne Variant action figure and The Walking Dead Hardcover Compendium, which collects issues #1-48 of the iconic comic series.

The Walking Dead topped the bestseller lists for graphic novels in 2011 and frequently topped the New York Times and Amazon's bestseller lists, taking the top five spots on hardcover and paperback lists. Kirkman is also the executive producer and writer of the hit television show, AMC's The Walking Dead, the highest-rated basic cable drama of all time in the U.S for season two. Friday's AMC panel was one of the hottest events at Comic-Con. The show is also an international success in 120 countries, showing in 250 million households worldwide.

The Walking Dead #100 Covers and SDCC Exclusives

Walking Dead #100 is nearly upon us with less than three weeks to go! It is really hard to believe that the 100th issue is nearly here. Robert Kirkman has taken us on an amazing ride with an incredible series that continues to only get better. I remember when the series was criticized for being in black and white, but still is popular, and more than ever. I remember when Zombies would be a fad to come and go, but more popular than ever. I remember when AMC's The Walking Dead started and became a phenomenon. The 100th issue is definitely huge, and thanks to Mr. Kirkman, Skybound Entertainment, and Image Comics for making it a great treat to The Walking Dead fans, with multiple covers.

All these amazing covers remind me of the 1990's when there would be multiple variant covers for that big anniversary issue, especially the Chromium Edition that will also be available based on Charlie Adlard's wraparound cover.

Because The Walking Dead #100 will be released on July 11th just in time for San Diego Comic Con, SDCC attendees will be in for a treat for exclusives.

Diamond Comics will have a SDCC The Walking Dead #100 exclusive cover.

Not enough?

Well, Skybound Enertainment and Robert Kirkman have created the ultimate experience for The Walking Dead fans in honor of the release of the 100th issue with The Walking Dead Escape. The Walking Dead Escape will be at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con throughout the weekend and will be an amazing experience to either be a Walker, Survivor, or Spectator. All Walkers and Survivors will be given an exclusive Walking Dead Escape variant cover for The Walking Dead #100.

If you were thinking about registering for the Walking Dead Escape, you may want to sign up soon because all of the Walker sign ups are now sold out, so registering to be a Survivor will be the only way to get this exclusive cover.
