The Godfather Card Game Coming from Paramount Pictures and IDW Publishing

IDW announced it would release a line of The Godfather tabletop games ranging from quick-to-play card and dice games to big box strategic board games. Paramount Pictures’ The Godfather is widely recognized among the most revered films of all-time.

“The Godfather is more than a movie, it’s an icon,” says IDW’s Director of Business Development, Jerry Bennington. “We plan to give players as many options as possible when it comes to gaming in this rich environment. From quick dice fun to intense big box strategy this will be a line of games truly worthy of the name The Godfather.”

The Godfather game line will start with a card game due out this summer, and continue to branch out from there. The games will range in length and complexity, and take place in a variety of locations and timelines spanning the trilogy of films. Gamers can look forward to rising to power and doing everything they can to stay on top in a cutthroat world.  These games will truly be an offer The Godfather fans  can’t refuse.

Pizza Hut's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Thrower at Petco Park for San Diego Comic Con

Well, the 2014 San Diego Comic Con has come to an end and we will have lots to share these next few days. Do we wish it continued? Yes, but I guess life must go on. Each year we attend SDCC, it seems like there is something new and original and 2014 definitely brought it big from Zip Lines in Gotham City, life sized Hot Wheels Darth Vader Car, Godzilla in the back of the San Diego Convention Center, and yes, a real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Thrower! 

Pizza Hut would create something amazing and special for the TMNT fans and just in time before the release of Paramount Pictures Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to hit theaters August 8th. The Pizza Hut TMNT Pizza Thrower would be found in the Petco Park parking lot where there were lots of cool events and activities going on throughout the San Diego Comic Con weekend. 

When we first learned about the TMNT Pizza Thrower being built, we knew we would have to make a stop at Petco Park. There it was with lots of fans amazed as we were at first glance and seeing someone sitting on that chair on top and getting ready to aim that pizza launcher at Shredder and his Foot Clan. 

Here are some of the stats for the Pizza Hut TMNT Pizza Thrower event at Petco Park:

• 5,500: Number of attendees that fired pizzas from the life-size, functional Pizza Hut Pizza Thrower 

• 33 percent – estimated accuracy of participants
• 4,000 – Number of times Shredder target was hit by flying pizzas
• 10 percent – Percentage of participates that hit the target on all three attempts (it was tough!)

• 18,000+: slices of Pizza Hut Cheesy Bites pizzas were sampled (Yes, we definitely had to have a couple of slices ourselves!) 

• 800+: Number of pizza boxes were used to make the furniture featured into the Pizza Hut/TMNT experience (photo below)

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.

Yahoo! is Bringing Movieland to San Diego Comic Con

Yahoo! Movies, which reaches more than 26 million users a month, will be in full force at Comic-Con this year as it brings to life MOVIELAND, a visually rich, interactive game on Yahoo! created in partnership with several major film studios, including Universal Pictures, Sony, Lionsgate, and Paramount Pictures. 

Taking a page from the success they have seen to date online, Yahoo! will transform a 2000 square foot Comic-Con space into MOVIELAND, so attendees can experience a life-size interactive game board with movie-related content (trivia, quizzes, etc.) customized to some of the summer’s biggest movies, including ParaNorman, Total Recall and The Expendables 2.  Highlights from the experience will include: actual movie props, augmented reality photo booths, special visits from actors throughout the week including Christopher Mintz-Plasse (ParaNorman, How to Train Your Dragon, Superbad), and chances to win exclusive on-site prizes, including movie tickets. Sean Phillips, head of movies at Yahoo!, will also be onsite to discuss the latest and greatest from the conference and the summer movie phenomenon.

Throughout the weekend, Yahoo! Movies will also be providing premium and exclusive content daily from on-the-ground at Comic-Con with two new original video programs, “Hello From Comic-Con” and “Comic Connoisseurs.” “Hello From Comic-Con” is hosted by Diane Mizota and Marc Istook and will include five episodes of daily news reports, including interviews with celebrities and talent to breaking news on everything Comic-Con-related. “Comic Connoisseurs” is a long-form interview series featuring A-list fan-favorite movie stars shot at the MOVIELAND location. Yahoo! Movies will also highlight the latest news with photo galleries, exclusive first looks and unique coverage of both the top talent and the wildest fans.

The MOVIELAND space is across the street from Comic-Con (located at 520 5^th Avenue) and will be completely open to the public; festival passes are not required. Talent will make appearances there on Friday the 13th, and there will be a photo opportunity with characters from the film.

 

The Avengers Assemble May 4th!

It first started with the Incredible Hulk, then came Iron Man, Thor and Captain America! Throughout these amazing Marvel Entertainment films many more characters were introduced from Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury. Years in the making to bring the team together and we are just a few months away from seeing the Avengers to finally Assemble. We have enjoyed watching each member shine in their own films and we will now see how well they can come together, which I am pretty sure we will see many differences and personality clashes and maybe some egos being crushed. 

 Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios The Avengers will kick off next Summer 2012 right on May 4th!

JJ Abrams Summer 2011 "Super 8"

The Angry Koala Gear crew is really looking forward to this year's summer hits. We are going to be busy providing many reviews from Marvel Studios Thor and Captain America, DC Comics Green Lantern, Priest, Pirates of the Caribbean, Cars 2, Transformers, and many more great hits after looking at this years list. Wow, we are going to be at the movies an awful lot this summer. But the movie I have been looking forward to ever since I seen the few second teaser last year is Paramount Pictures,  JJ Abrams "Super 8". We have really enjoyed his great movies and television shows and he keeps us wanting more when we see his great trailers. What I like most about his trailers is that he keeps us wondering what is going to happen in his films until you actually see them in the theater. JJ Abrams "Super 8" will be released in theaters on June 10 and the Angry Koala Gear crew will be there to give our best review possible.
