CINEMAX has picked up the ten-episode drama series OUTCAST, it was announced by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Executive produced by creator Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) and Chris Black and produced for CINEMAX by FOX International Channels (FIC). The show will also be executive produced by David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC and Sue Naegle.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Robert Kirkman’s new drama to CINEMAX. OUTCAST is an ambitious series and Adam Wingard has directed a powerful pilot. I am very proud of the work that Robert, Sharon and team have put together, ” said Hernan Lopez, President and CEO, FOX International Channels.
OUTCAST, based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Patrick Fugit (“Gone Girl”) stars as Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Philip Glenister (“Life on Mars”) stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn’t believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff. Gabriel Bateman (“Stalker”) stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family’s dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there’s something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes.
OUTCAST is produced for CINEMAX by FOX International Channels, who will serve as the studio and international network on the series; the pilot was directed by Adam Wingard (“The Guest”).

Robert Kirkman's Outcast Volume 1 from Skybound and Image Comics

Robert Kirkman, creator of worldwide entertainment phenomenon THE WALKING DEAD, teams up with Paul Azaceta for OUTCAST, the first new series written by Kirkman himself in three years and since the premiere of the AMC adaptation of THE WALKING DEAD, which went on to become cable’s most successful and most-watched television show. The Image Comics/Skybound series’ first volume will be in stores on January 28.
The television adaptation of OUTCAST is currently being shot for Cinemax starring Patrick Fugit as Kyle Barnes and Philip Glenister as Reverend Anderson. Kirkman with serve as creator and executive producer and penned the pilot script.
OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA introduces Kyle Barnes, his tragic past, and his unusual gift. Kirkman and Azaceta zero-in on dark forces in this all-new suspenseful series. Since he was a child, Kyle has witnessed his loved ones become possessed by demons, and it has caused his life to fall apart. He wants to be believed. And he wants answers. But when he goes searching for them, what he uncovers just might bring about the end of the world.
OUTCAST BY KIRMAN & AZACETA blends the supernatural with a realistic setting and follows a complicated and tormented protagonist, characteristics of Kirkman’s storytelling that earned him early praise and success with THE WALKING DEAD. Azaceta builds the dread-inducing suspense with haunting, eerie art that unites intimacy of setting with the terror of the unknown. Demons are here, demons are real, and Kyle Barnes is at the center of it all.

Skybound Announces Director and Cast for Outcast

Straight from Skybound!! :
Hey we can talk about this now! The show version of Outcast has a director for the pilot and major roles cast! Exciting!
Up first, Adam Wingard, who directed the awesome You’re Next and The Guest will be helming the pilot! Adam is super versatile (if you’ve seen The Guest you know how many genres it tackles at once, and rather adeptly, too) and really great at suspense and atmosphere. The director of a pilot helps set the visual language for the entire run of a series, so we’re super lucky to land Adam. Adam’s on Twitter!
Next, our two main characters: Kyle Barnes and Reverend Anderson. Kyle will be played by Patrick Fugit, who’s maybe best well known as the star of Almost Famous, but has most recently been seen in David Fincher’s Gone Girl. I’m a bit of an ER fanboy so I’d also like to mention his moving stint on that show as a cancer patient. Really good stuff.
Reverend Anderson will be played by Philip Glenister. Glenister isn’t super well known in the states, but he’s the star of two GREAT British series, Life on Mars (which was adapted for US television a couple years ago) and Mad Dogs. Mad Dogs is worth hunting down if you can, trust me on that.
Also joining the pilot cast is youngster Gabriel Bateman (who you can currently see in the horror film Annabelle). Bateman will play Joshua Austin, a boy (possibly) possessed who has a connection to Kyle.
I’m super pumped about all this! I think Wingard is a really great choice to direct and really ups the game for the pilot. Fugit and Glenister are world-class and fantastic choices for the two leads. Hopefully our schedule will allow us to sneak off to the set and get some pics for you! Stay tuned!

SDCC Skybound Minis The Walking Dead and Invincible Blind Box Exclusives at San Diego Comic Con 2014

San Diego Comic Con 2014 and Skybound would introduce the world to their new toy line of blind box figures, which included The Walking Dead Rick Grimes and Invincible "Mark Grayson". Each box included a Rick Grimes and Invincible vinyl figure. Because they were blind boxed, there would be different variations included in each box, with some very rare chase figures possibilities.

The packaging for the SDCC Skybound Minis premiere was very simple with the Skybound logo along with the Minis logo. As mentioned, the exclusive blind box would include two figures. The sketch above was created by the designer of the figures, Mr. Scott Tolleson.

Each case would include ten individual blind boxes inside. Here is the packaging of the premiere and reveal for the Skybound Minis vinyl figures, which includes both The Walking Dead Rick Grimes and Invincible.

The box would list the odds of possibilities individuals would receive inside their boxes.

The back of the box features the Skybound logo and stating it was an exclusive. The back would also feature the figures being designed by Scott Tolleson.

We got our hands on three blind boxes and felt we scored pretty big. This set includes the Glow in the Dark Bloody versions of Invincible and Rick Grimes. They are limited to only 500 pieces, so we feel we scored on a chase set.

We would have to hit up Mr. Scott Tolleson at his shared booth to sign our Skybound Minis figures.

Rick Grimes includes his Sheriff hat separately.

Another big score in our second box would be the Bloody version set with both Invincible and Rick Grimes. We definitely were pleased to get the other limited set of only 500.

We thought our luck would continue and we would get the super rare Gold "Bloody" set or Gold regular set, but no luck. With a run of only 50 sets, we knew it would be very difficult. We were happy with our figures though. I am definitely liking the beginning of the Skybound Minis figures. Scott Tolleson definitely did a great job in the design and sculpt of the figures. As far as we know, SDCC 2014 will be the only way to get the blank figures for both Invincible and Rick Grimes.

Scott Tolleson working on our sketch he did on our Skybound Minis box.

Mr. Scott Tolleson with our newly acquired sketch he did on the Skybound Minis box.

We took a moment to chat with Scott about the Skybound Minis and he gave us some great information. He mentioned that the Skybound Minis will be released sometime in 2015. The figures of course will continue the blind box action and feature different characters in the Skybound universe that will include The Walking Dead and Invincible and hopefully other characters from other Skybound Comics. He did mention the figures will be released fully colored with chase variations.

We want to thank Scott Tolleson for the sketch and signing our Skybound Minis and for the great information on the future of the line. We are definitely looking forward to seeing what will be coming!

Robert Kirkman's Outcast #1 Coming this Week from Skybound and Image Comics

Robert Kirkman has had an amazing success in his incredible stories from Invincible, Thief of Thieves, Ultimate X-Men, Marvel Zombies, and of course the Walking Dead. A new series he has created and announced last year will be in stores this Wednesday, June 25th and it has been receiving great praise. Robert Kirkman's newest series is Outcast from his imprint Skybound and Image Comics. Outcast was created and written by Robert Kirkman and the art is by Paul Azaceta.

Outcast is the story of Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

With Robert Kirkman's great success in comics, he has definitely created some of our favorite comic series. One of those being of course The Walking Dead, which led to our favorite television series on AMC. He has been working on this story for a couple years, which gave him an opportunity to also make it a hopeful television series. A TV pilot is currently in production from Fox International Channels for the cable network, Cinemax. With a very unique and original story, Outcast can definitely be an eerie, horror filled series we would love to see on TV and do hope gets produced. Meanwhile, we look forward to adding another Robert Kirkman series to our collection this Wednesday.

PreviewsWorld has a sneak peek into Robert Kirkman's Outcast plus an exclusive interview with artist Paul Azaceta.

Robert Kirkman Writes Invincible #111 to Bring a Bold New Direction

INVINCIBLE #111 is the first issue of a bold new direction, a startling new era, and stories for a new generation from Robert Kirkman, the creator of THE WALKING DEAD empire and up-for-anything artist Ryan Ottley. Suddenly infused with more gore and terror than a zombie apocalypse, INVINCIBLE takes a turn down the dark path of horror when Invincible is betrayed by one of his own.

“If The Walking Dead is the zombie movie that never ends, Invincible is the superhero movie that never ends. Like The Walking Dead, it takes a well-worn genre and puts a new spin on it, raising the stakes and treating things a little more seriously than they otherwise are,” said Kirkman. “With these new issues, starting with 111, we’re really going to be ramping up those elements of the series to their highest peak. I don’t think people are prepared for all the lines we’re going to cross... and not look back. This really is an exciting time to be an Invincible fan.”

INVINCIBLE #111 packs the punch of three #1 issues combined and is the perfect jumping on point for new readers, that will blow the minds of long-time Invincible fans.

INVINCIBLE #111 arrives in stores on 4/16 and will be available for $2.99.

INVINCIBLE #111 can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code FEB140476.
