Star Wars x Vans Customs Including Darth Vader and Yoda

Following up two successful capsules, Vans and Star Wars team up once again to release limited edition Vans x Star Wars prints exclusively for the Vans Customs program. Starting October 15, Vans and Star Wars fans alike can customize select Vans silhouettes with Yoda and Darth Vader collage patterns on www.vans.com/customs until November 15. With 27 color options and 24 print swatches to choose from, one can design a shoe that this universe has never seen before.  

 

Embracing the Force, Yoda appears on the first Vans x Star Wars print hued in soft tones. Dedicated to the dark side, Darth Vader surfaces on the second pattern with lightsaber drawn, ready to battle across the galaxy. The limited edition Vans x Star Wars patterns can be arranged across the Authentic, Classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi silhouettes in men’s, women’s and boys’ sizes.

Star Wars x Vans Holiday Collection

 Vans teams up with the Star Wars brand once again, this time exploring the dark side of the Force to introduce new designs inspired by villains from the original trilogy. Taking cues from the summer collection, the Vans x Star Wars holiday offering extends through Classics footwear to men’s apparel and accessories combining heritage Vans prints with Star Wars villains from around the galaxy.  

 

The sophomore collection kicks off with the Era, which introduces the storm camo, a black and white winter camouflage shoe featuring images of Imperial Stormtroopers. The blended Star Wars and Van Doren Pirate print returns this holiday after first being released for a limited run in the Vault by Vans collection. The archived Vans print has been updated replacing the original skull and sword configuration with images of Darth Vader, Stormtrooper helmets and lightsabers. The reissued Vans x Star Wars graphic is highlighted on a black-to-the-floor Sk8-Hi and is carried into men’s apparel with a t-shirt, three snapbacks and backpack. The Classic Slip-On mirrors the sinister, all-black motif with a portrait print of the Sith Lord himself, Darth Vader. The Authentic rounds out the assortment with a scene of good versus evil, presenting iconic imagery from life on ice planet Hoth. Kids and toddlers will also get to walk on the dark side with takedowns of the adult Era and Authentic prints, but will receive an exclusive pattern on the Classic Slip-On. Vans’ iconic black and white Checkerboard Classic Slip-On is treated with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper heads in each alternating check.

To celebrate the second installment of the Vans x Star Wars collection, Vans Customs will release limited edition Star Warsprints exclusively on vans.com/customs. From October 15 to November 15, Vans and Star Wars fans can customize popular silhouettes such as the Authentic, Classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi with two new patterns only available through the Vans Customs program.

The Vans x Star Wars holiday capsule launches October 1 at Vans.com, Vans flagship locations and select wholesale accounts globally. Adult sized footwear retails from $60 to $70 USD, kid and toddler sized styles retail from $37 to $42 USD and men’s apparel items range from $28 to $40 USD.

Vans x Star Wars Signings at San Diego Comic Con 2014

We are definitely having the San Diego Comic Con withdrawals now and counting the days until July 2015. SDCC 2014 was another amazing year of fun and enjoying seeing some of our favorite comic book creators, toy companies, and entertainers. A new addition that would be added this year would not be expected, but we were very grateful to see them, the Vans company. We have been big fans of Vans shoes all our lives and it was exciting because of their new line. On Star Wars Day, May the 4th, Star Wars fans would be introduced to the Vans x Star Wars line and we were fortunate to score a couple of the super limited edition "Opening Ceremony" Star Wars x Vans  shoes. 

The Vans booth would be found in the Star Wars Lucasfilm Pavilion section and they were in perfect company for Star Wars fans. Once we learned about what Vans had planned for SDCC, we knew we would be hanging out at their booth a couple of times for signings and amazing exclusive Star Wars posters.

 On the Vans x Star Wars signing on Friday, July 25th, we were able to meet Taka Hayashi who designed the Opening Ceremony OG Classic Slip-On LX Star Wars Miami AT-AT style. We had to bring our pair along for Taka Hayashi to sign. Along side, we would get a chance to meet Tony Munoz, who designed the Stormtrooper Bandana Vans for the 2014 Star Wars Summer Collection.

 We would return to the Star Wars Lucasfilm Pavilion on Saturday, July 26th for another Vans x Star Wars signing to meet Calvin Garcia who designed the OG Half Cab LX Darth Vader shoes and OG Half Cab LX Yoda Vans for Opening Ceremony super limited release. This time, we had to bring our OG Half Cab LX Darth Vader Vans along to get signed by Calvin Garcia and we would get another opportunity to meet Taka Hayashi. Vans had another very cool SDCC Star Wars x Vans poster exclusive that featured the OG Half Cabs.

The Vans booth was a perfect addition to the San Diego Comic Con 2014 lineup and we enjoyed their booth and signings. We do thank Vans very much because they were surprised we brought our Opening Ceremony Star Wars Vans along to get signed. We actually received a very special surprise when they gave us a very limited Opening Ceremony Star Wars keychain which was a mini version of the Miami AT-AT style. 

We also received big news from Vans that there will be more designs released later this year for their Star Wars line. Disney fans should also be very pleased because Vans will be planning a Vans x Disney run of Vans shoes in 2015!

Vans x Star Wars Exclusive Posters and Signings at San Diego Comic Con!

We have attended San Diego Comic Con since the mid 90's and we have seen it grow tremendously from taking over the whole convention center to taking over the Gaslamp District. Throughout these years we have seen Hollywood take over with bringing the news of all the big Summer movies to be released the following year or even further. The increase of comic companies has grown and the toy industry and game industry has joined in as well. We definitely enjoyed seeing how big San Diego Comic Con has become and love seeing new companies joining in on the fun. We are huge Star Wars fans and are getting "geared" up for Episode VII and hoped to have some news this year at SDCC, but we have learned there will not be too much announced if at all. The Star Wars presence is always strong at Comic Con and it will remain just as strong on Star Wars Day on Friday, June 25th. Vans is joining in on the fun this year, yes that very Vans company that makes the famous shoes with their motto, "Off the Wall". This year Vans x Star Wars teamed up to create a great shoe line that we have loved so far. Vans has announced that there will be a couple of signings of designers who created Star Wars shoes and special exclusive Vans x Star Wars posters. To celebrate the successful project and to thank fans for their support, Vans will release these unique prints as limited edition posters exclusively at Comic-Con San Diego.

The Invasion of Star Wars x Vans Has Arrived

The Star Wars x Vans shoe collection has arrived! The release was on Sunday, June 1st and we had an opportunity to see what was being offered. As soon as you come to the entrance, the Vans store had a great window display. 

The Vans store had this window display on both sides. Now as you enter, we would be welcome with a very special treat with another amazing display with Darth Vader. 

Once entering the Vans store, you can "Feel the Force" inside filled with all the Star Wars goodness from the Star Wars x Vans shoes to hats, to backpacks. The great thing about the Star Wars x Vans line is that there are literally shoes for all ages!

 

We shared a previous post originally once we learned about the amazing Star Wars x Vans collaboration and it was great to see them first hand. What a great combination to bring back the traditional Vans styles with our favorite Original Trilogy Star Wars themes. The displays throughout the store were something incredible and we wish we can get our hands on one of them. 

Again, the Star Wars line is awesome because the whole family can definitely be rocking their favorite Star Wars x Vans shoes. The youth and toddlers actually have two pairs of shoes that I wish would be available for adults. 

The Star Wars line will be expanding at Vans throughout the Summer according to the staff. There were also a couple of different hats available.

Overall, we are definitely loving the Star Wars x Vans line and looking forward to seeing what will be coming out this Summer!
