Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak is Coming to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Legendary and Universal Pictures’ much-anticipated Crimson Peak, directed, co-written and produced by celebrated filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, will come to life in a terrifying new “Halloween Horror Nights” maze beginning Friday, September 18, 2015, at Universal Studios Hollywood, it was announced today.

Crimson Peak opens in theaters on October 16

“Guillermo del Toro Presents Crimson Peak: Maze of Madness” will be unearthed as a three-dimensional living representation of the film, designed to send guests spiraling through the chilling world and in the footsteps of Crimson Peak’s lead character, Edith Cushing, first as they venture from her home in America, then to the decaying and haunted Allerdale Hall mansion in a remote English countryside.  With a foreboding “Beware of Crimson Peak” message that echos from Edith’s past, guests will navigate a labyrinth of paranormal tortured souls who have born witness to the estate’s dark history of unspeakable acts …and who continue to reside in vengeful, ghostly forms.

“I am a devoted fan of Universal Studios’ ‘Halloween Horror Nights,’ and I am honored to partner with them to create a real-life version of my Gothic Romance, Crimson Peak,” said Guillermo del Toro. “It’s a thrill to work with the movie studio that gave birth to the modern horror movie genre. I can’t wait for movie-goers to enter the haunting world of Crimson Peak as they navigate this haunting maze. I can assure you, I will be first in line to experience the scares of it myself.”

“Guillermo del Toro is a leading visionary in film, and Crimson Peak provides endless opportunities to immerse guests into the terrifying world that he created,” said John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of “Halloween Horror Nights.”  “From the haunting score by Fernando Velázquez to the incredibly detailed set design and scream-inducing ghosts, we will recreate an authentic experience that will have guests feeling as trapped in our ‘Crimson Peak’ maze as the film’s lead character.”

About Crimson Peak:  When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever.  Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.

From the imagination of director Guillermo del Toro comes a gothic romance starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.  www.crimsonpeakmovie.com

Legendary Pictures Official Dead Rising: Watchtower Trailer

Capcom's Dead Rising has been one of my favorite Zombie video games. I remember when the first game was released that I would play for hours and constantly fighting the zombies in the mall. I loved the game because of all the weapons you would find. I do remember saying this would be an amazing movie if it were to be able to be released. Legendary Pictures is making that happen with Dead Rising: Watchtower that will be released on March 27th, streaming exclusively to Crackle

Legendary Pictures  official Dead Rising: Watchtower trailer has been released today.

The trailer has definitely brought back memories of the game and I do look forward to checking this one out.

300: Rise of an Empire Trailer from Legendary Pictures

Based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

"300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. Picture presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, "300: Rise of an Empire." The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton ("Gangster Squad") as Themistokles and Eva Green ("Dark Shadows," "Casino Royale") as Artemesia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from "300" as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson ("Clash of the Titans") stars as Aeskylos; and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

Legendary's Godzilla Encounter at SDCC 2013

San Diego Comic Con 2013 has wrapped up and it was another amazing year! Having attended for over 10 years now, it is hard to believe what can always be added for the excitement. Last year, we attended the Legendary/Warner Brothers panel in Hall H for Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, and The Hobbit. We would get a great added bonus with the intro to Legendary's Godzilla that will be in theatres next May 16, 2014. We knew there would definitely be some Godzilla presence this year at SDCC, but Legendary brought something much larger than we could ever dream, the Godzilla Encounter. Legendary would create the Godzilla Encounter for the fans and it was an amazing experience.

The Godzilla Encounter was off-site from the San Diego Comic Con and created in the Gaslamp Quarters. The outside of the building had a great mural of what appears to be Godzilla and warning signs that we will be entering a "radioactive zone".  What could be more fitting to know that we would also be encountering the "King of Monsters" himself.

The Legendary staff would give us some details of what we should be prepared for and that we would get the chance to walk the streets of Tokyo. We would be allowed to take pictures as we walk in Tokyo, but not be allowed to take pictures or video after a certain point where we would get an amazing treat.

Something told us that we would not be alone on these streets.

Man of Steel Panel at San Diego Comic Con 2012

Superman fans would finally have their time in Hall H during the Warner Brothers/ Legendary Pictures panel at San Diego Comic Con 2012. We would finally see the first footage in Man of Steel for the first time! The Man of Steel panel would follow Pacific Rim and Godzilla.

This is what we would see on the big screen and the cheers were loud.

Chris Hardwick would soon introduce Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch) to the stage, who is directing Man of Steel.

Zack Snyder appeared to be very nervous by himself on the stage as he talked about Man of Steel. He was very quiet and kept his answers very quick. He would soon break out of his nervousness as his next guest would be introduced.

Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/ Superman) would soon join the stage, and the man responsible for playing one of the greatest superheroes, would be welcomed by 6500 attendees.

Zack Snyder would give us a synopsis on Man of Steel and for the first time, a World Premiere of footage from Man of Steel.

Again, I wish we could record the footage, but under strict rules, we are not permitted. What we would see was awesome. It began with narrating and seeing a young boy. We would then see a clip of a young boy pulling up a bus in water and hearing a woman mentioning that she saw Clark pull that bus up. There would be quick clips, in between and we see Clark Kent in a full beard in what appears a small town in the winter. We would hear Kevin Costner (Jonathon Kent) as he is talking to Clark Kent about who he is. The audience would soon see what they hoped for, Superman. We finally got to see him in action with a scene of him flying straight in the air. We did not know what to expect in the footage, but we would see Superman in action fighting someone who has hit him and causing him to fly back into what appeared to be a bank vault and smashing it in during the impact. The footage shown looked very promising and I knew this would be much better than Superman Returns (2006).

Following the footage, a quick Q&A would be open to the audience. Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill have to share with the audience how honored they were to be part of an iconic character in the DC Universe. Henry Cavill would share his excitement in knowing how incredible it was to be that person that holds that infamous symbol on his chest. A couple of guests would bring great laughter to the crowd with their questions. One gentleman would be so nervous up there and showed great emotion in tears in how excited he was. It even got Chris Hardwick to come running down to give him a hug.

One young lady would even be so brave to ask for Henry Cavill's name tag. He did say yes and he met her at the stage where he delivered it to her. Of course, the audience was not pleased and actually booed her for asking, but I give her credit because she now owns his name tag from the panel.

Overall, the footage and panel were terrific and has me ready to see Man of Steel next June 14, 2013.

This is the official Man of Steel teaser trailer that was released during Dark Knight Rises.

Godzilla's Return at San Diego Comic Con 2012

We would be fortunate to attend the biggest and greatest event at San Diego Comic Con 2012 in the Legendary Pictures/Warner Brothers panel. Hall H would be in for a tremendous treat with Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, and The Hobbit, but be in for a very special treat.

Right after the Pacific Rim panel, Thomas Tull, founder of Legendary Pictures would have something else to share with the audience. We were already thrilled with the footage and Pacific Rim panel, so what more could we get? I thought maybe a couple of exclusive clips to The Dark Knight Rises, since it was going to open the following week, but something even bigger to me. The last question that was asked in Pacific Rim by a young boy was the question I hoped for to be possible. Guillermo del Toro said that there would not be any famous, familiar Kaiju in Pacific Rim, such as Godzilla. I was disappointed, but that would soon change what we would soon see!

Thomas Tull said that we were going to see something very special and strictly exclusive to San Diego Comic 2012 and only for Hall H!! I was ready as all other 6500 in the crowd.

The clip would begin with a person narrating talking about the end of times and all we see is buildings that appear to have been destroyed by bombs. Then we see a few skyscrapers standing and destroyed, but with gigantic holes in them. Could those holes have been from a meteorite that struck them? We then see a cloud of smoke rising and something that begins to appear out of the smoke. The creature becomes clearer and seems to grow taller and taller. And the moment of truth would appear, he has arrived, Godzilla and his very familiar and iconic roar!!

Had to share this only for Godzilla's roar!

The goosebumps ran throughout my body once I saw and heard him! The crowd erupted with cheer and Chris Hardwick was also blown away.

We would soon be introduced to the man behind Godzilla and who would have the great challenge of directing the film, Gareth Edwards. There was not much that could be said about the film except that Gareth Edwards was extremely thrilled to be part of something so big. The film is planned to be released in 2014.

I grew up watching the classic Godzilla films and I am a huge fan. I was very disappointed in the  Godzilla (1998) and do hope to see Godzilla being created as I remember in the originals. We were able to see the clip twice and from the short teaser, I can say that Legendary Pictures will create Godzilla as I remember!

Pacific Rim Panel at San Diego Comic Con 2012

The Legendary Pictures/Warner Brothers panel would be the granddaddy of them all for the panels for San Diego Comic Con 2012! We would be in for a treat and the crowd who either camped out or waited for hours were ready for it to begin. Chris Hardwick would be the moderator for this behemoth of a panel and he was very excited for this moment as everyone else. We would see the greatest thing that Hall H would ever see and who knows if we will ever get this chance again. There is the normal huge screen above the stage, but we would see a transformation before our eyes that I thought would require special effects (well I guess it was like special effects). Black curtains would begin to slide open on the left and right sides of the hall that would continue moving across and we thought they would continue to open around the entire auditorium. The crowd was in total amazement and shock of what they were seeing. Chris Hardwick showed his excitement and was left speechless.

Chris Hardwick would talk about his excitement of what would be to come and he would soon introduce Legendary Pictures founder, Thomas Tull to the stage. Thomas Tull, Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers wanted to bring something "legendary" to Hall H and most memorable and it was accomplished before it even began. The first movie to be introduced would be for Pacific Rim and this was one movie I was definitely eager to learn more about.

The Director of Pacific Rim would be non other than Guillermo del Toro and he would soon join the stage.

Guillermo del Toro is no stranger to San Diego Comic Con and he loves being part of it. He is a true genius in his films and knows how to create very visual masterpieces. Pacific Rim will be one of those films because it will be Human and Gigantic Robots vs. Monsters. He would share how he has always wanted to do a film like this with gigantic beasts and robots and it was very easy for him to want to do this film once he received the script.

After an introduction in Pacific Rim, a few of the cast members would soon join the stage,
Charlie Day (Newt Gotlieb), Charlie Hunnam (Raleigh Antrobus), Rinko Kikuchi (Mako Mori), and Ron Perlman.

Ron Perlman would receive a huge applause from the crowd! Chris Hardwick would also share something special that Ron Perlman would do earlier in the week for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Ron Perlman would surprise Zachary, as a Make-A-Wish, with a great surprise by dressing in full costume as Hellboy.

The moment would finally be here and Guillermo del Toro who had only been filming Pacific Rim for a very short period of time, wanted to bring something special to SDCC. A very exclusive clip of Pacific Rim would be shown to the very lucky Hall H crowd and he stated that this footage would be the only form of clips until December. Guillermo del Toro would say that not even James Bonds cameras would ever get any access or talk about the film until the end of the year.

What we would see in this trailer or clip left me speechless, in shock, and full of goosebumps. Truly unbelievable footage that made left me amazed. We would see huge robots that were controlled by humans and required to fight huge monsters. Two humans would control the head and if one human were to die in the head controls, the whole machine would go down as we did see in the beginning of the footage. Guillermo del Toro is one of the best in creating visual perfection if not the best and he shows his talents in creating monsters.

There would be a great Q&A and the audience would ask some great questions and want to know more about what Pacific Rim would be about. We do learn that del Toro loves the old Japanese classic Monster films and wanted to bring the Kaiju to life as he remembered watching them. We would learn that there will be flying Kaiju, water Kaiju, and at least 9 monsters. The very last question that would be asked would be by a child and it was the one question I wanted to ask the whole time. He would ask it very simple, but nervous to Mr. Guillermo del Toro. Will there be a very famous Kaiju in Pacific Rim? I knew exactly what this boy was asking as many others in the audience were eager to know the answer. He would go on to say that he wants to make a few films in Pacific Rim, but that there would not be a famous, or familiar Kaiju in the film. I was saddened to hear this news knowing that Legendary Pictures had acquired the rights to Godzilla. It still does not make me curious to think that since he wants to do more films that it could never be a possibility! Because del Toro mentions that we will not see anything more on Pacific Rim until December makes me think we will see a trailer before the Hobbit. What does everyone think about this?

Legendary Pictures, Pacific Rim, will be in theatres next summer, July 12, 2013.
