El Paso Comic Con 2011 "EPCON"

This past weekend was the 2nd Annual of the El Paso Comic Con (EPCON). We were fortunate enough to visit El Paso and attend the comic con for our first time. It was thanks to a couple of friends that are from El Paso and thanks to the Alien Warrior Comedian's Facebook for learning about the EPCON that got us interested. We are huge fans of pop culture and just attending the San Diego Comic Con is not enough anymore. We have become addicted to attending comic conventions and we are trying our best to attend as many as possible.

We have attended conventions in San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Tucson, Phoenix, Mesa, and now El Paso. What makes each of these comic conventions special are that they are all unique in the vendors, exhibitors, artists, companies, and entertainment they have. Each city takes great pride in what they can offer and they also want to bring in their local talents, which is important.

The EPCON did this very well in bringing in many local companies and artists that were promoting their comics and artwork. Adversary Comix, 656 Comics, Imaginary Concepts, Dope Fiends Comics, Broken Tree Comics, L&R Comics, and many other exhibitors. The artists included Andy Kuhn, Brent Peeples, Terry Huddleston, and other artists.

Meeting the "Vatos" from The Walking Dead at EPCON

The "Vatos" from AMC's The Walking Dead were at the El Paso Comic Con (EPCON) this weekend. We were lucky enough to catch up with Anthony Guajardo, James Gonzaba, Neil Brown Jr. and Noel G while at the EPCON. We asked each of them a few questions. Check out the pictures and interviews below.

El Paso Comic Con Coming September 10th - 11th

Who does not like attending comic cons? The Angry Koala Gear crew has enjoyed this year with attending a few great events this year, starting immediately in January with the Amazing Arizona Comic Con. We have also been fortunate to attend the Long Beach Comic Expo in April (where we also had the opportunity to be extras for Season 5 of The Guild, "we even made the cut on the last episode!!"),  Phoenix Comicon in May, San Diego Comic Con in July, and now for the first time, the El Paso Comic Con on September 10th - 11th. We are very excited for the El Paso Comic Con because of the some of the guests that will be attending. We are huge The Walking Dead fans for both the Image Comic series and the AMC The Walking Dead. I have been lucky to meet a few of the cast members at previous events, and El Paso Comic Con will give us the opportunity to meet the Vatos from AMC's The Walking Dead.

Not only will the Vatos from The Walking Dead be special guests, but the guest of honor will be Billy Dee Williams, along with many great guests.

Here is the official press release:
