Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment and 1821 Comics: Romeo and Juliet Debuts at the New York Comic Con

Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment and 1821 Comics announced today that they will debut Romeo and Juliet: The War at New York Comic Con 2011. Stan Lee will be on hand toshowcase the book and sign special limited edition mini posters promoting the title. Pre-release orders are being taken at the 1821 comic's booth #1458. Romeo and Juliet: The War will be in stores the end of November as a deluxe 10''x13" over sized coffee table book available in both hard and soft cover formats.

Romeo and Juliet: The War takes Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers and places them in the futuristic sci-fi/fantasy Empire of Verona, the most powerful territory on Earth. The MONTAGUES, powerful cyborgs made of artificial DNA, and the CAPULETS, genetically enhanced humans known for their speed and agility, worked in tandem to destroy all threats to the city. With no one left to fight, the Montagues and Capulets found themselves a new enemy: each other.

Stan Lee commented, "This is the graphic novel I've always dreamed of doing. Take one of the world's greatest stories, known and loved throughout the globe, place it against the background of a future age, a more violent, science-gone-mad age--embellish it with the most powerful, dazzling, illustrations ever seen and produce it in the largest, most impressive format of all.  Romeo and Juliet: The War!  It's the crowning achievement in this, the age of the graphic novel."

Big SDCC Party Hosted by Comikaze Expo, Pow! Entertainment, Ghostship, and Geekscape

The San Diego Comic Con has always been the event we always attend because of how much we are fans of comics, toys, movies, and art. This year is even bigger for us because we launched our site earlier this year and have been busy with establishing connections with companies such as Image Comics, Marvel, Sideshow Collectibles, Gentle Giant, Dynamite Entertainment, DC, and so much more. We have been fortunate to provide new information to fans like us in comics, toys, and movies.

We enjoy attending Comic Cons and if we could we would attend each and every one of them. Growing up in Los Angeles, we have had our share in small conventions, but never a full on comic convention or pop culture convention. I guess 2011 will change that with the Comikaze Expo coming this November to the Los Angeles Convention Center. We have been fortunate enough to chat with one of the co-founders of Comikaze Expo and we are excited to be attending the first annual event this November 5th and 6th.

Day one of the San Diego Comic Con brought us not only a special treat in the event, but we were also invited to attend a party hosted by Comikaze Expo, Pow! Entertainment, Ghostship, and Geekscape. The party was held at the Bristol Hotel on the top floor. Because Pow! Entertainment was a host of the event, we were hoping to get a chance to see and meet Stan Lee and there he was! The guests went crazy as soon as he made his presence in the room. I had a great opportunity to shake his hand and say a quick hello. He was very kind and took many pictures with the guests and soon after a tall individual shows up and it is Rick Fox. We will have to say though besides meeting the great Mr. Stan Lee is that we got to also talk with Doug Jones and a few of The Guild cast. We are big fans of the series and we are even hoping that we made some of the scenes in Season 5 coming out very shortly. We were able to be part of the filming as extras of Season 5 at the Long Beach Comic Expo this past April.

We had a blast! Thank you Comikaze Expo, Pow! Entertainment, Geekscape, and Ghostship!
