Angry Koala Gear is Heading to DesignerCon 2015!

The Angry Koala Gear crew is heading once again to DCON and we are just one week away! We are excited to attend again as attendees, fans, and an exhibitor. We will be at Booth #200 with DeeTen, our very own Matt Perez aka Obscure, and us, Angry Koala Gear. 

Please pay us a visit at our booth #200 as we will be bringing along a few of our Less Than Perfect Bootleg figures including Darth Feratu, Lil' Fett, and the debut of Blackula Calrissian. 

Blackula Calrissian will be available at the DKE Toys Booth #812 where you will find our fully painted and carded, limited to only 10 at $40 each. Once you pick him up, pay us a visit at our booth and we can sign him. 

Our own Matt Perez aka Obscure will be bringing his very own unique and incredible creation, Oop to DCOn, where he has invited many amazing artists to customize his Oop and will be available during the show.

We had a few sets available at DesignerCon of our Space Ice Edition. The response was terrific for our first shot of our own Bootleg figures. We actually have a few available to purchase for $25 each or $40 for the set. If you are interested, please contact us and we can sell them through Paypal. We actually are in the process of opening our online store very soon. 

Now to get to the fun part! We actually are running a contest/giveaway for our first test pulls or prototypes of our Darth Feratu and Lil' Fett. The contest is now on our Instagram @angrykoalagear and @obscureakg. The contest is very easy to enter by just 1) Following both us @angrykoalagear and @obscureakg 2) Reposting the pic below and tagging us and last 3) Hashtags #lessthanperfectbootlegs #obscureakg and #angrykoalagear.

Angry Koala Gear Crew is Heading to DesignerCon 2014!

We are heading to the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend on Saturday, November 8th and Sunday, November 9th for the DesignerCon 2014. We are definitely getting into "Gear" and very excited for not only attending as big fans of many of the featured artists, but as Exhibitors as well. Our very own Matt Perez aka Obscure has been heavy at work with designing and creating many Designer Toys for the big show throughout the year. We will be at DCon Booth #719 right in the center of the Exhibit Hall.

DesignerCon is an amazing event for the fans of Art and the Designer Toy World. This is the place to be to find the best in the creative and custom toy world. Yes, we will have a booth at DCon, but I am going as a fan first and I am looking forward to sharing with everyone our coverage throughout the whole show and weekend. The show will have over 300 vendors and it will include many special guests, signings, giveaways, panels, demos, and EXCLUSIVES, EXCLUSIVES, EXCLUSIVES!! Some of the vendors will include DKE Toys, Giant Robot, October Toys, 3DRetro, Skybound, SpankyStokes, Super7, Lulubell Toy Bodega, Toy Art Gallery, and so many more. This is a convention that brings creativity at its best. DCon is where the artist can come together and have fun and be memorized by each others' works. DesignerCon is definitely a convention for the fans and you can not beat this deal of ordering your Tickets Online for only $5 each day, or paying $7 at the door.

Again, we are very excited to be attending as fans and as exhibitors ourselves. I am excited with what Obscure has created. We are also debuting our new line of our own "Bootleg" style action figures (well, not quite action) with the Less Than Perfect Bootlegs, which will include Darth Feratu and Lil' Fett for our first figures.

Obscure will also be bringing a few of his own original line in his From the Mind of Mindness series. This has been a series he has been excited in creating for the past year. He is a big fan of horror and came up with these characters for his love of this genre.

Over this past year, Obscure has also been working on his Day of the Dead custom dolls by customizing the Disney Animator Dolls. He will be bringing along his DOTD Frozen Wedding Set, which include his Dia de Los Muertos Anna and Kristoff and his DOTD Dark Knight Joker.

Obscure has definitely been creating and creating non stop this year and he literally finished his first custom Kidrobot Mega Munny custom last night and it looks amazing. This monstrous beast stands 18" tall and he wanted to give it his Day of the Dead treatment.

SDCC 2014: Day of the Dead Disney's Frozen Wedding Couple Custom Debut at San Diego Comic Con

Angry Koala Gear's very own Matt Perez aka Obscure has been working on his amazing Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) Custom Disney Animator Doll series, which has included DOTD Snow White, DOTD Ariel,  and DOTD Tinkerbell. He has been working on a project for San Diego Comic Con 2014 where he will unveiling them to the world and be available as well. He is creating his Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) Disney's Frozen Wedding Couple Animator Doll set. 

Obscure's Day of the Dead Frozen Wedding Couple will include both Anna and Kristoff. Matt Perez aka Obscure created his first three DOTD Disney Animator custom series on his own and customizing their original outfits, but in order to create this new DOTD Frozen Wedding Couple, he would need to collaborate with an artist who would be able to create their Wedding outfits. This is the news and update he has shared for his future DOTD Disney Animator Custom series.

Clothes for Obscure's Dia de Los Muertos Animators dolls will now be made exclusively by Shayne Toby of Corkies Cute Creations (except for a select few).  She is creating some amazing clothes that will blow people's minds, especially when put together with Obscure's painting style and execution.  As Obscure has put it, "Shayne's skills are taking my DOTD dolls to the next level!... Obscure has just released a teaser image of what is to come for his Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) Disney Frozen Wedding Couple custom set that will be debut at San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 25th at Beefy & Co. Booth #5646 during his signing from 12pm - 1pm. The set will be available to buy! We will not be revealing too much until the day of the signing, but stay tuned for teaser images to lead up to the World Premiere reveal!

Dia de Los Muertos "Day of the Dead" Disney Animator Custom Dolls Created by Matt Perez aka Obscure

Angry Koala Gear's own Matt Perez aka Obscure has been creating some amazing pieces these last couple of years. He has made a few original pieces that he has sculpted and molded and he has used many different platforms from Kidrobot vinyl figures to various Designer Toy pieces. He has recently taken his creativity to another level to trying something original in using the Disney Animators Collection dolls to create his own Day of the Dead customs with the Disney Princesses. We first shared his first Dia de los Muertos "Day of the Dead" Snow White Disney Animator Custom Doll last month. 

He created it for a customer that was very satisfied. The buzz would increase in people wanting their own custom Day of the Dead Disney Animator Doll. From this point, Obscure has created his Day of the Dead Snow White, Ariel, and Tinkerbell. In these pieces he would use the Disney dolls original clothing and customize and tailor them a bit different.
