Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Vintage Jumbo Figures are Coming from Gentle Giant

 Secret Wars was a 12 part series from Marvel Comics that introduced the character of The Beyonder to the Marvel Universe. The Beyonder, assembles a planet from chunks of other planets and dubs it "Battleworld". He then kidnaps several heroes and villains from Earth, and transplants them on Battleworld to fight for The Beyonder's amusement. During this storyline, Spiderman discovers his black suit within alien technology that he finds on Battleworld. This suit would go on to not only redefine Spiderman, but become one of his worst enemies as the villain Venom!

The Secret Wars event crossed over several Marvel Comics titles from May of 1984 to April of 1985. The series was tied into the immensely popular Secret Wars action figure collection. Each figure included their signature lenticular shield that was unique to the series. The line spawned 2 series of figures, as well as vehicles and playsets.

Digitally scanned from the original Mattel Secret Wars figures and reproduced in 12” scale, no detail has been overlooked. Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics, this fully-articulated jumbo figure includes a faithfully re-produced lenticular shield.

To further capture the vintage feel, Gentle Giant has packaged this figure with a Secret Wars-inspired backer card featuring original photos and artwork. Designed with the collector in mind, the figure comes in a re-sealable plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition figure.

G.I. Joe Gets the Jumbo Vintage Figure Treatment from Gentle Giant

Inspired by the Hasbro vintage GI Joe A Real American Hero figure, Gentle Gian is proud to bring you the GI Joe Machine Gunner, Code Name: ROCK ‘N ROLL. One of the first figures released in the series that started in 1982, Rock ‘N Roll is now the FIRST figure in an ongoing series of jumbo vintage figures.

This time, they are bringing the classic Return of the Jedi Kenner Princess Leia Organa in Boushh Disguise. The Jumbo Kenner line from Gentle Giant digitally scans mint 3 3/4" Kenner originals and reproduces them into a 12" masterpiece. Gentle Giant Star Wars Jumbo Vintage Kenner 12" Power of the Force Edition

One of my favorite toy lines that is from Gentle Giant Ltd. is the Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars figures. Brings back my memories as a child playing with the original Star Wars figures on the Vintage cards, but much bigger. The first figure that would start off this amazing line 2 years ago is the San Diego Comic Con exclusive Stormtrooper, which would continue with many great figures.

The newest figure to join the Jumbo Vintage Kenner Star Wars collection is the Premier Guild Member Gammorean Guard. What we knew about the Gammorean Guard was that it would be coming on the Vintage Return of the Jedi card, but ended up receiving a huge surprise this week. The Gammorean Guard will still be available on the The Return of the Jedi card, but available to everyone. PGM members are in for a great surprise and I was thrilled when I heard the news and saw what was to come! We will be getting a Vintage Power of the Force card, plus a Gammorean Guard coin to go with it. Not only is the card cool, but to think even a coin and it is 3".

 

Who is excited about seeing the return of The Power of the Force cards? I do hope we see this line continue with the original POTF cards and coins, especially on some of the super rare figures.
