Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer and Screenshots

It is here Star Wars fans!!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer has been released and we got goosebumps immediately. As mentioned, this is just a teaser, so we got a small glimpse for 88 seconds of what is to come next December 2015. Who is ready to start lining up for Episode VII? 

We had to capture a few screenshots from the trailer! What do we know so far from the trailer, the Millennium Falcon returns, Tie Fighters, X-Wings, new droids, new characters, the return of the Sith with a very cool lightsaber, new Stormtroopers, the Desert, epic battles, John Williams' famous score, Lucasfilm, chills, thrills, and more!!

 

Being a die hard Star Wars fan from the beginning of the Original Trilogy in 1977, I can say this is going to be epic and I am looking forward to the great future of Star Wars with Disney. While many people may criticize this new birth (shall we say) with J.J. Abrams direction and the game change to Disney, I feel Star Wars returns in a big way.

We will definitely see you in theatres next December 2015!

LucasFilm and Dark Horse Announce George Lucas' Original The Star Wars at WonderCon Anaheim 2013

WonderCon Anaheim 2013 wrapped up yesterday and it was an amazing event, especially for Star Wars fans. Dark Horse Comics had their Star Wars panel yesterday and we were there to hear the news and updates in the Star Wars universe. We did learn about Star Wars Legacy II, Star Wars Dark Times, and Brian Wood's take in Star Wars, but would soon get the biggest news about The Star Wars! The Star Wars will be a series coming later this year, which is from George Lucas' original screenplay for Star Wars that he created in 1974. It’s no April Fools’ prank! Dark Horse is honored to announce a dream project: working with J.W. Rinzler, executive editor at LucasBooks, and artist Mike Mayhew (Avengers) to adapt the rough-draft original screenplay which spawned the biggest franchise in film history!

Three years before his 1977 film, George Lucas put down on paper his first story set in a galaxy far, far away—a tale of fantastic adventures, daring escapes, “lazer swords,” romance, and monsters. A story of Jedi Annikin Starkiller and General Luke Skywalker, an alien named Han Solo, and evil Sith Knights. The screenplay was titled The Star Wars!

“I’m not sure where I first read about The Star Wars—it was years and years ago—but the idea of Luke Skywalker being an older Jedi General, and Han Solo being a six-foot-tall lizard, turned my Star Wars fan brain on its side,” said longtime Star Wars editor Randy Stradley. “I always assumed this would be one of those stories that would be ‘lost to history,’ so getting to work on bringing it to life is kinda like a dream come true.”

“While researching in the Lucasfilm Archives I’ve found many treasures—but one which truly astounded me was George’s rough draft for The Star Wars. His first complete imaginings were hallucinating to read—mind blowing,” said writer J.W. Rinzler. “While working with George on another book project, I once asked if we could adapt his rough draft. He was hesitant. Years later, with Dark Horse’s invaluable help, we showed him a few drawn and colored pages of what it might look like. He gave us the okay.”

Originally conceived in 1974, The Star Wars has been the subject of rumor and legend in the fan community throughout the history of the galaxy far, far away. Now, Lucas has seen fit to grant Dark Horse the right to adapt this fabled story into an eight-issue comic series launching in September!

Star Wars is back in 3D Back-to-Back for Late 2013

That's right Star Wars Fans, they will be released three weeks apart. Attack of the Clones will open on September 20, 2013 and Revenge of the Sith on October 11, 2013.  The logic to these Fall release dates is because of next year's abundance of Summer 3D movie release dates. Two of those movies will be The Little Mermaid in 3D and Sin City : A Dame To Kill in 2D and 3D, which will be close to the Star Wars dates. This past February, The Phantom Menace was released and made over 43 million dollars. That gave it the green light to get Episode II under way. In a way it's good that they are getting the new trilogy out of the way since it was not the greatest. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope 35th Year Anniversary

Happy 35th Year Anniversary Star Wars!!

It is pretty amazing to believe that on this day, the one movie that would impact films forever is celebrating 35 years. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope was released on May 25, 1977. 

Star Wars became an instant worldwide phenomonon that would change the way visual, sound, and special effects would be made. We must thank Mr. George Lucas for creating the Star Wars Universe! With his company ILM, we have seen many incredible effects, including the newest summer blockbuster, The Avengers. All this will have to be thanks to Star Wars: A New Hope, which started it all. 

The original Star Wars Trilogy are my favorite films and everytime I watch them, I am able to live my childhood with great memories of seeing them in the theatre each and everytime he has re-released them on the big screen. I would have to say that Star Wars is my favorite toy line to ever be created and still is to this day thanks to the Hasbro Star Wars Vintage Collection. 

In the celebration of the 35th year anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, I will be fortunate to be attending the Phoenix Comicon and celebrate with many of the 501st members in attendance and others who will be dressing up in their favorite Star Wars costumes!

Ralph McQuarrie Will Be Remembered

Star Wars fans have lost a legend. One of the most important people responsible for bringing Star Wars to life has passed away, Ralph McQuarrie. Ralph McQuarrie helped by creating hundreds of concepts art pieces in the characters, vehicles, environments, and the backgrounds. We have been fortunate to have met him at the San Diego Comic Con a couple of times and he was such a nice man. 

June 13, 1929 - March 3, 2012

Ralph McQuarrie will always be honored for his amazing art. 

One of my favorite Star Wars lines were from the Ralph McQuarrie wave. 

There were so many other pieces that were created because of Ralph McQuarrie's art. 

Thank you Mr. McQuarrie! You will be missed. 

Indyanimation - Raiders of the Lost Ark 30th Anniversary Stop Motion Tribute

We would love to get another Indiana Jones movie! I know what many may be thinking, why another? Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was heavily criticized, but hey it had Indiana Jones. Rumors are floating out there that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg may be working on another and I do hope this is true.

It is very hard to believe that Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark celebrated 30 years last year. Hasbro celebrated the 30th Anniversary with a special edition, SDCC Indiana Jones set last year, and a  very creative person, Jeff Gurwood built and filmed a stop motion animated film that featured the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Stop motion is takes a great deal of time and we know this because we love to build Lego sets in this style. I can only imagine how long it took him to build the sets and to film it. This is an amazing video and we hope to see more! 

The Epic Battle in 3D next February!

We are huge Star Wars fans, especially for the Original Trilogy. The Prequels are not our favorites, but they are Star Wars! Next February, 2012 will be the beginning of Star Wars as it has never been seen before. I am very excited knowing that George Lucas will be bringing Star Wars back and in 3D for the first time. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the Pod Races and the epic battle with Darth Maul in 3D and on the big screen!

Star Wars Celebration VI Announced

For the past few months, many rumors and many hopes have been spreading which city would be hosting the next Star Wars Celebration. The rumors and hopes can now end because it has been confirmed that Star Wars Celebration VI would once again be in Orlando, FL. It will be held at the Orange County Convention Center on August 23rd - 26th, 2012. The tickets and hotels are now up for purchase on the site. I have to say that this is a great destination for the Star Wars Celebration because of all the great amusement parks that are so close besides this great event. Why not take a ride on the new Star Tours 2.0 at Disney's Hollwood Studios while attending the Celebration? 

There were awesome exclusives at Star Wars Celebration V, so I am just curious what we have looking forward to seeing. Is this going to be the big announcement from Mr. Lucas himself about a new movie in the works? I would certainly hope the television series will be set with a date as well. This is great news for Star Wars fans!
