Is Ridley Scott's Prometheus a Prequel to Alien?

We are huge fans of the sci-fi genre. We grew up to many great films such as the Star Wars Saga, Blade Runner, the Predator films, Terminator, and the Alien saga. Ridley Scott definitely knows the sci-fi genre and he has directed two of the greats in Blade Runner and the original Alien. He will be adding one more to this list this June 8, 2012 in  Prometheus.

What are your thoughts of the new teaser trailer for 20th Centery Fox, Prometheus? Even before the trailer was released, there were many pictures. During this time, many had their thoughts that this film seemed to be a prequel to Alien. The music sounds very familiar in this trailer because it was used in Alien. One interesting scene in the trailer shows the exploration of the crew, which happens to be by pods or eggs. This reminds me a great deal of the epic scene in the original Alien when they make contact with the Alien eggs. Even if this film turns out to not be part of the Alien franchise, I have good faith that Ridley Scott will be creating another classic!

  1. Yes it is. The synopsis talks about how the aliens in this one will be bigger, how it has been explained in other films that the aliens take on characteristics of things they parasite on (think Ripley's alien baby and the predalien), though it doesn't say "this is a prequel", they are definitely implying it. So in that case I would be disappointed if it were not.

    1. Thank you for the comment. I really had believed that it was a prequel to Alien. There is so much in the pictures and trailer to prove that it is, but I have seen movies that sometimes are so different from the trailers. I also would be disappointed if it were not a prequel, but it does look like an amazing movie either way.
