Gentle Giant Studios at WonderCon 2012

WonderCon 2012 was this past weekend and we are glad that we had the opportunity to attend this year, especially since it came down to Southern California. We were very excited to know many of our favorite artists and creators would be in attendance, but when we learned that Gentle Giant Studios would be making their presence, it added to the excitement.

We first learned of Gentle Giant Studios having a special exclusive for the show a few weeks ago and that is when the rumors began of what it may be. Thanks to the contest of guessing what the exclusive may be, we had an idea of what it would be as many others had. Gentle Giant Studios brought us something special at WonderCon with the exclusive, Star Wars Yoda in 3D Glasses mini bust.

Review Coming Real Soon!!

We were very excited to learn that Gentle Giant Studios would be at WonderCon, so we had to try to schedule a tour! We did, and we were fortunate to be the first scheduled tour for WonderCon 2012. We met with Greg Crafts of Gentle Giant Studios and he told us that he had a surprise for us. We would be getting the opportunity to see their newest licensed item first!! Gentle Giant Studios will now be doing Mars Attacks in celebrating the 50th Anniersary. Gentle Giant has two holiday ornaments lined up first for Mars Attacks and we would see the first of the two to come out later this year.

Gentle Giant has been creating Star Wars for some time and we are huge fan of the 12" Vintage Kenner line. As you can see in the picture below, we know what will definitely be on our list. The red Snaggletooth looks amazing! Do we see a PGM exclusive in the future with a blue snaggletooth? I do certainly hope so.

Another license that was recently acquired is the Marvel line with statues with vehicles, mini busts, and more. Here are a few pictures of the ever popular Deadpool series. Love them!

Gentle Giant Studios is also doing a line of statues that are truly beautiful! We are "suckers" for the Sucker Punch line. We have Babydoll, Amber, and now Sweet Pea, but soon enough will have Rocket as pictured below. The Girls from Sucker Punch are nearly complete and all we will need left will be Blondie.

Last, but not least, was a piece that had me speechless. Definitely, my favorite piece on display at WonderCon!! We hoped that Gentle Giant would create one, but had no idea until seeing it how awesome of a piece it is. The Demon Samurai Warrior that Babydoll fights in Sucker Punch was on display and definitely had people talking about it. He was massive and tremendously detailed. We did ask of a price and of when he may be available for pre-order and we were told maybe in the end of April or May and with a price range between $400-500.

Thank you Gentle Giant Studios and Greg Crafts for the amazing tour at WonderCon 2012! We are excited for another great year and we will see you guys again at San Diego Comic Con.
