Severed #1 from Image Comics

This Wednesday (8/3) Image releases Severed #1: 'Nothing Wasted'. The story is by Scott Snyder (Eisner Award Winner for American Vampire) and Scott Tuft. The art and cover is by Attila Futaki.

This is the first in the series and having a comic set in 1916 in the United States is an interesting concept. This is the year that Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States and it was also the year before the United States entered World War I.

"For us, the perfect time to tell this story was 1916. It was a time when everything was fresh and new in America but just below the surface there was a dark undercurrent." - From Scott, Scott and Attila

In this story we are taken back to Jamestown in 1916 and introduced to Jack Garron. Jack runs away from home to find his father. Instead he quickly finds that life won't be as easy as he thought when trying to escape life on a train, in fact it can be a nightmare. For another boy, Frederick, he finds himself in a nightmare when a salesman  reveals his true form.

We are looking forward to seeing where this horror story takes Jack as he tries to find his father. Check out the preview pages below:
