Robert Langridges's Snarked #0 from Boom! Studios will be out in comic stores this Wednesday, August 3rd for only $1.00. We had a chance to read the introduction to the new series, Snarked that will begin this October. Robert Langridge is known for his work on The Muppet Show from Boom! Studios, and Thor: The Mighty Avenger. Snarked was created and illustrated by Roger Langridge. The story comes from the wonderful imagination of Lewis Carroll, best known for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
Snarked is about Wilburforce J. Walrus, who is a walrus who may be a slight con man (con-walrus?). He has his friend Clyde McDunk who appears to be a not so bright character. Issue #0 is an intro to the actual series, which will start this October. This adventure leads Mr. Walrus and Mr. McDunk to the Palace, where the King is away on a Sea Voyage. They believe (Wilburforce J. Walrus) that the palace will be an easy target because most of the guards should be away as well. This is where we will meet Princess Scarlett and Prince Rusty and hopefully soon, the Snarks!
Boom! Studios has been publishing terrific series, Planet of the Apes, Elric, Irredeemable, and I Thought You Would Be Funnier. The new series from Roger Langridge, Snarked is sure to join the list of great comics. The story is fun, filled with great humor, and the art is awesome, reminding me of the great classic comics such as Beetle Bailey, Hagar the Horrible, and the Peanuts.
