Who is gearing up for the Hobbit? The Angry Koala Gear crew is most certainly excited to hear the new updates for the filming of the movie to be released December 2012 by the great Peter Jackson. The cast has been updated this past couple of weeks and Lord of the Rings fans will most certainly see familiar faces from the Trilogy. The latest rumors have stated that Hugo Weaving will make a return as Elrond, hopefully so especially since he recently visited Peter Jackson on the set.
Well I guess I need to get back to why I am posting right? Sideshow Collectibles has brought us the greatest line of Lord of the Rings collectibles and they continue to presently and in this post's news the future. Sideshow Collectibles and Jerry Vanderstelt who have both created incredible work from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and of course Lord of the Rings. Jerry Vanderstelt recently finished his new work of the Dark Lord, Sauron and Sideshow Collectibles will collaborate to use this piece to create a Premium Format Sauron Statue. This painting is amazing and I think Sideshow will definitely come through to bring Sauron to life. Because it will be a Premium Format, I can only imagine this statue is going to be huge! I am really excited for this news and we hope to see a little sample at the San Diego Comic Con this July. I am sure the Lord of the Rings fans remember how awesome Sideshow Collectibles booth was during the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Not to say that they do not always have a great exhibit, but I can say those were my favorite. I can't wait to see the production of this piece.
