The Angry Koala Gear crew was fortunate enough to attend the San Diego Comic Con last year and we were able to not only see my favorite line from Gentle Giant, but to pick up the first figure they introduced. I am a big Star Wars fan, especially for the Original Trilogy. When I first learned that Gentle Giant was going to take the original 3 3/4 inch Star Wars figures and make them into 12 inch figures and also card them on the original Star Wars cards, I knew I would be collecting these. I am very glad I did because it brings back many memories to having the original figures growing up and it will make it a lot easier to read these cards when I get older.
So far, there has only been two figures released in this line, the SDCC Stormtrooper, and Star Wars Celebration V Boba Fett. There will be a total of 12 figures to be released and hopefully more in the future. I would love to see an original Power of the Force carded figure in the 12 inch scale with the coins. Could you imagine that!
There have been pre-orders up for Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Tusken Raider, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca. In today's great news from Gentle Giant Studios, they opened up pre orders for Obi Wan Kenobi and a Jawa with a fabric cloak. What I am really hoping for as a Premier Guild Member is that Gentle Giant will create a special Jawa with plastic or vinyl cloak as the elusive original.
