Losing One of the Greatest - Mr. Robin Williams

Today, we have lost one of our favorite entertainers of all time who brought many smiles and laughs and tears. I always show my respect for those we lose from family and friends and those people I have never met who I enjoyed watching on television or through music. For some reason, today feels quite different in hearing the news of Robin Williams. I grew up enjoying Mr. Williams at an early age when I first saw him as Mork in Mork & Mindy. His character was so quirky and so fun and always had the family enjoy Mork. We grew up with smiles each time we saw him on television. From Mork & Mindy, I would remember the first movie from Robin Williams, Popeye. Having the role of one of the most iconic characters would be something special because Robin Williams would bring Popeye to life.

I can honestly say I have so many great memories growing up with Robin Williams. His roles are countless to me because of how much he impacted me in watching films and television. Mork & Mindy, Popeye, Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Jumanji, Hook, Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, Good Morning, Vietnam, Awakenings, Toys, The Birdcage, Flubber, Night at the Museum, Old Dogs, RV, and so many more are part of this list of why Robin Williams will be missed. Who can honestly bring gigantic smiles and laughs to peoples' faces and quickly make us cry in amazing dramatic roles?

Not only did Robin Williams have such an impact in movies, but his stand up comedy will stand as one of the greatest. He was one of the best in Improv because of his enthusiasm, personality, creativity, high energy level, and smile. He would be a big part of Comic Relief that I always enjoyed watching with all the great comedians featured including himself, Whoopi Goldberg, and Billy Crystal. My family and I would have our eyes and ears glued to HBO each year that Comic Relief was on. Comic Relief was created for a great cause and it definitely created a great impact and I remember seeing the passion Robin Williams had in it when he hosted.

I do not normally write on subjects as this one, but learning about Robin Williams gave me different feelings that I wanted to share. He was an amazing actor, entertainer, and person that will be missed. He brought many laughs, smiles, and tears and his life seems too short. It saddens me too much to realize he was sad as well and I wish I could honestly given him a smile that he was able to do for me my whole life. Goodbye to one of my all time favorites.
