Guillermo del Toro's The Strain Premieres Tonight on FX

From the genius mind of horror, Guillermo del Toro created a novel and comics series for The Strain with Dark Horse Comics. Guillermo del Toro originally had pitched the idea for a TV series, but did not work out resulting in creating the novel (2009) with Chuck Hogan and then the comics series at Dark Horse. The Strain would become an instant hit with comic book fans. Here we are in 2014, and Mr. Guillermo del Toro had his original vision come true to bring The Strain to television with the Premiere to air tonight on FX. From the comics series to the incredible teasers that have been on television, the show looks very promising. We have been fans of Guillermo del Toro for a long time and he has never disappointed us. He helped to bring us Mimic, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Blade II, Pacific Rim, and has produced many Horrific films. From his list, it would be hard to believe he would be turned down originally for a television series.

Here is a little background about The Strain:

The series is a unique take on vampires. It is based on the biology of vampires, but that are parasitic creatures. What may start from a worm that gets introduced to the human bloodstream gives us the end result of becoming this vampire creature. As classic as the original Vampire story where the vampire feeds on the human is how they turn and introducing this new idea of the direct invasion of the worm entering the human body through a cut or even eye. In FX's The Strain, we will see the transformation first hand and learn more about how society will hope to fight the spread.

The Strain premieres tonight on FX at 10pm.

Are you ready? We are definitely excited for this series. As we said, we are big fans of Guillermo del Toro and his visions in horror and from the success in the comic series and what early reviews have said the television series comes direct from the book.
