Weapons of Mass Change travels to Washington DC for its second stop after premiering in Richmond, VA. The show, which benefits humanitarian missions around the world, enlists an eclectic mix of talented artists to transform weapons into art objects, stripping them of the violence that they are commonly associated with. This act serves as a reminder of art’s powerful influence and the need for it especially in war torn areas of the world. The pieces ranging from handguns to grenades to riot shields, will be sold with partial proceeds going to the "Sniper Campaigns" which are humanitarian missions throughout the world started by the artists of The Army of Snipers who will also complete pieces for the show. During their first sniper campaign the crew worked with the Little Lotus Project, http://littlelotusproject.org/ in the Thai/Burma border to bring color to the lives of refugee children through collaborative art projects.
In this edition of the show, Army of Sniper’s founder Aaron “Woes” Martin will bring life to the walls of Blind Whino where the show will be on exhibit by painting a mural in the lounge area. Bringing color to these walls just illustrates the importance of these humanitarian aid projects and provides the perfect backdrop to the exhibit.

We are the Army of Snipers International, a crew of artists spanning the globe, picking our creative targets and hitting them without fail.
Started by Aaron “Angry Woebots” Martin in 2009, AOS was originally a collective of top-tier artists that he had met through his various travels around the world. As Woes invited more like-minded creatives to join his crew, the mission and purpose of the Snipers started to evolve as well.
Now with members spanning the globe from countries like the US, Singapore, Italy, Scotland, Cambodia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Malaysia and more, the collective goal is to bring our individual talents together, coalesce them into an unstoppable artistic force, and use it to spread art and do good works all over the world.
The roster of artists committed to this goal bring a litany of skills to the table, from graffiti, to painting, to sculpture, filmmaking, to animation, to photography and beyond, so that no project is insurmountable for us to handle.
Whether we are painting 5 story buildings, making customized sculptures and toys, organizing humanitarian missions, helping companies find that creative vision or creating the next level of fashion and gear, there is only one goal in mind when it comes to hitting our creative targets:

The Army of Snipers Weapons of Mass Change Show was created for a great cause and the participating artists are some of the best. We are definitely big fans for quite a few and what can be bigger than to have the honor to have our own Matt Perez aka Obscure be part of this show. We look forward to seeing what the artists create for this event and will share soon.
