2013 is an amazing year for Star Wars fans in celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi. This past June 11th was also an anniversary for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in celebrating 31 years. Angry Koala Gear's Matt Perez aka Obscure wanted to create something to celebrate both films, which we grew up to be two of our favorite movies of all time.
Obscure found the Funko Star Wars Wacky Wobbler Wise Cracks Boba Fett at his local Blockbuster and he liked Fett's pose with his arms crossed kind of like Angry Koala Gear's logo and to top it off unpainted. He had to buy it to paint the Boba Fett in his normal form.
You may notice that Obscure changed Boba Fett's name a tad to Boba FE.T.t. He had to remove the helmet so that he could paint it much easier, which gave him inspiration to add something special to the Wacky Wobbler. He thought about a character we grew up to love in the same time period as the Star Wars Trilogy and thought about E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Why not create a E.T. Mandalorian? E.T.'s race can be found in the Senate in The Phantom Menace and R2-D2 can be found in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, so it was only fitting for a mashup.
