Tucson Comic Con 2011

What an eventful weekend it was for me at this year’s Tucson Comic Con. Not to mention it was my first Comic Con I’ve ever been to! I know very surprising. I’ve been to Anime Con but that’s a different story. Back to Tucson Comic Con! Two full days of events, dressing up, meeting new people and spending my college funds! I saw amazing costumes, awesome life size droids and more toys than my little heart could handle! (Ask anyone who was with me I literally was almost in tears and shaking! Haha I geeked out a little too much.)

The 501st legion was there as always! Along with many more artist and vendors! I got to meet the majority of them and got some super cool exclusives and artwork from them and I am more than happy to share it with all of you!  With my fellow Angry Koala Gear crew in California for Comikaze Expo, I was alone for the first time on my journey into what was the unknown for me.  I think I did a pretty good job for being a padawan on her own! I also made 2 youtube videos with all the pictures and short videos from the con on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out. I’ll post the links below!

Here is a list of amazing artist and some pretty cool vendors I got to meet and talk to well I was there:

John Proudstar was a newer local artist that I got the chance to meet and buy his amazing art and his new comic called Tribal Force. It was really neat to see an artist incorporate my desert surroundings in his comic and the native culture into his characters!

Rob Osborne was originally from Arizona and had an unbelievable sketch book that I just had to buy a few prints from him!
He also gave me a copy of one of his comics called The Nearly Infamous ZANGO.

The next artist, creator and writer that was there, Wayne Gardiner. He was super nice and has a very vibrant comic which leads an awesome female character and I actually got a chance to do a video interview with the mythical character from the comic and I will upload that as soon as I get my hands on it! The comic is called Knightingail.

Another artist I met that gave me some unique and rad art and sold some very cool merchandise was a local group called AZ Robot Town. Check them out at azRobotTown.com!

The last artist I got to meet was Tim Champion and he gave me a few drawings! Check them out!

Also check out the Arizona Avengers! The coolest group I got to hang out with during comic con and I made some new friends! Besides the 501st legion they had the best costumes!
