Tattered Man (One Shot) from Image Comics Review

Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray Present: The Tattered Man, a one shot from Image Comics that will be available tomorrow at your local comic shop. The story is written by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti. The artwork is by Norberto Fernandez and the lettering and design by Bill Tortolini.

The Tattered Man is a story of true retribution. Opening scenes find us with a trio of young adults too old to be trick or treating on Halloween. The three are set out to rob an individual who is an elderly man and an easy target (right?). The elderly man has great secrets and tries to protect the individuals from releasing something they will not be able to stop and has been hidden since the ending of World War II.

The secrets that the elderly man, Isen is protecting is something that has set vengeance and will protect those that are being harmed. The Retribution was released because of hatred, "to exterminate an entire race of people, this was PURE hatred, the worst humanity had to offer."

Tattered Man is truly a great story filled with history, mystery, and vengeance. Jimmy Palmiotti is no new comer to comics and we have enjoyed his beginning work in the early 90's from Ash to Painkiller Jane. Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti have teamed up before and this one shot proves it with a terrorific story. Norberto Fernandez did an awesome job on the art of Tattered Man. I really enjoyed this one shot from Image Comics, and I do hope Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, Norberto Fernandez, and Bill Tortolini will bring us more from the Tattered Man. This is the story of a character that stands for retribution.
