With the second season of Fox’s hit series “Sleepy Hollow” set to premiere next Monday, September 22, Boom! Studios wants to let you know their tie-in comic book miniseries will be launching next month on October 15th.
Writer Marguerite Bennett (Butterfly, Batman: Joker’s Daughter) and artist Jorge Coelho (Polarity) dive into the mysterious town of Sleepy Hollow, New York, with new, original stories for Ichabod Crane (played by Tom Mison in the show) and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie). Featuring multi-layered characters and creepy storylines, our four-issue Sleepy Hollow comic is perfect for “Sleepyheads” (self-described fans of the show) and newcomers alike. As an added bonus, each issue will feature a short backup story written and illustrated by Sleepy Hollow megafan Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes).

Here is the synopsis for Sleepy Hollow #1:
After dying on the battlefield during the Revolutionary War, Ichabod Crane awakes in present-day Sleepy Hollow, New York. His resurrection is tied to the reappearance of the Headless Horseman, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Realizing it is his mission to help stop the end of the world, Ichabod teams with the SHPD’s Lt. Abbie Mills to meet each evil threat head-on. When minor miracles start to sweep the town, they’re glad something good seems to be happening for once. No decapitations, no headless horseman, no worries, right? But as one by one the miracles start to backfire, more and more violently, Abbie and Ichabod must find time between saving the world to save the citizens of Sleepy Hollow…
Sleepy Hollow #1 arrives in comic shops on October 15th with a cover price of $3.99 under Diamond order code AUG141139 with a main cover illustrated by Phil Noto and a retailer incentive cover (1 in 15) by Jorge Coelho. (See below for the images.) The final order cut-off date for issue #1 is, by coincidence, also on Sept. 22—it is the last day retailers have to place their orders, so fans should let their local comic shop know before then that they’d like to order it.
