WHAT: Comic Con 2013 presents The
Musical Anatomy of a Superhero: Bringing a Comic Book Character to Life.
Leading Hollywood composers and filmmakers
will show examples of their work and discuss the creation of the musical voice
behind the hero. Following in tradition with a long-running franchise, the
panelists will explore the challenges that are faced when giving the characters
a voice unheard by the world before.
WHO: Panelists include Academy® Award nominated composer Marco Beltrami (The Wolverine), Academy® Award nominated composer John Debney (Iron Man 2), composer Matthew
Margeson (Kick Ass 2)
and director Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2), Emmy Award nominated composer
Christopher Lennertz (Marvel: Agent Carter), Emmy Award
nominated composer Bear McCreary,
and Marvel Music Supervisor Dave Jordan. Panel will be moderated by award winning
journalist & CEO/President of Costa Communications, Ray Costa.

WHY: Panelists will give insight on the process of
creating a theme, transforming the theme throughout the story line and
following the often uphill battle that our heroes travel. Composers will
discuss working with the directors and how they work together to convey the
story of the character.
