Entertainment Weekly is exploding onto the
2013 San Diego Comic-Con scene with more elements than ever before to
create the ultimate talent destination at the pop culture extravaganza.
For the first
time ever, Entertainment Weekly will team up with Entertainment Tonight, the #1 syndicated entertainment newsmagazine and will also air interviews
and live programming, including Dalton Ross and Jenna Morasca's morning show
on Entertainment Weekly Radio, on SiriusXM (channel 105) in
an expanded media space at the EW Photo and Digital Studio at the Hard
Rock Hotel San Diego. It will be a one-stop shop for the leading stars
in TV and film to promote their upcoming projects
to fans.
In addition, Entertainment Weekly
will once again bring fans comprehensive live streaming video coverage
of the fest. EW’s livestreaming video will provide fans with intimate
access to the pulse of
the city, a close-up look at the memorable costumes superfans wear, and
a window into the after-hours action that makes Comic-Con such a unique
event. Viewers can also get in on the live action while EW’s
illustrious writers interview the TV and film industries'
biggest names in the EW Digital Lounge.
“Comic-Con
has always been a celebration of the fans,” said Bill Gannon, Managing
Editor of EW.com. “That’s what makes it special, and that’s why we’re
always there in a big way. This year,
once again, EW.com will be the digital destination for fans to see the
stars and experience the excitement of the convention, as it’s happening
with our live video streaming coverage. We’re proud to bring consumers
the best reporting and greatest access every
year, and are excited about the new assets EW is bringing to this
year’s celebration.”
This year also marks the debut of an EW Comic-Con free special collector’s issue which
will be the must-have, must-read guide for the
passionate, engaged and influential Comic-Con attendee. The issue will
be enriched by EW's unparalleled access to the biggest movies, TV shows,
games and comics at the festival, showcase
the biggest trends, and create buzz on the most exciting projects
Hollywood has to offer. And don’t forget to pick up
EW’s sixth consecutive Comic-Con preview issue, on newsstands
July 12. The annual issue is jam-packed with sneak peeks at some of the
most highly anticipated TV shows, movies and comic books, and serves as a
great resource for fans that might not be
able to make it to San Diego.
Hyundai will be the Presenting Sponsor of Entertainment Weekly’s
Comic-Con coverage across all platforms. The sponsorship features
multiple in-book covers, a cover buy-out of EW’s Comic-Con free special
collector’s issue, and Hyundai
branding of the EW.com Comic-Con hub on desktop and mobile. Plus
Hyundai will have on-site activation at the EW Digital Lounge and the
exclusive naming rights that will integrate their logo into all
editorial video.
No Comic-Con experience would be complete without EW’s legendary closing night party on Saturday
evening. The poolside fete will once again take place at Float at the
Hard Rock Hotel and will attract some of Hollywood’s biggest film and
television talent and industry luminaries in a celebration of all
things pop culture.
