The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor Audio Book

In the Walking Dead universe, there is no greater villain than The Governor. The despot who runs the walled-off town of Woodbury, he has his own sick sense of justice: whether it’s forcing prisoners to battle zombies in an arena for the townspeople’s amusement, or chopping off the appendages of those who cross him. The Governor was voted “Villain of the Year” by Wizard magazine the year he debuted, and his story arc was the most controversial in the history of the Walking Dead comic book series. Now, for the first time, fans of The Walking Dead will discover how The Governor became the man he is, and what drove him to such extremes.

If you have read Image Comics, The Walking Dead comic series, you know how much more of a threat humans are than the Zombies themselves. People are out to survive and make sure they protect their own. The Governor has been the largest threat that Rick Grimes and the group have suffered and they have lost a lot in this horrific encounter.

I am not sure if you are excited as we are, but Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor has been an awesome addition to the Walking Dead family. It is the first novel to be released to compliment this incredible series. Jon Bonansinga joins Kirkman to create a masterpiece in their first novel to spotlight the horrendous villain, Philip Blake, better known as the Governor. Not only is Rise of the Governor the first novel to come out in The Walking Dead series, but there is actually an audio book now that has been released through MacMillan Audio. What a way to be able to visualize The Walking Dead through narration by Fred Berman!

Thanks to MacMillan Audio, they have sent us an exclusive clip from The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor.

Please note there is adult language in the audio clip.
