Darkhorse Comics: Jill Thompson - First Female Creator to Win Comics Category of Reuben Awards

Jill Thompson was awarded the National Cartoonists Society award at the very prestigious Reuben Awards Ceremony this past weekend.  She was presented with this award for her work in Dark Horse Comics Beasts of Burden.

The most amazing thing is that Jill Thompson is the first female creator to win in the comics category in the history of the Rueben Awards.  The previous Dark Horse Comics creators who have received this honor are Paul Chadwick, Stan Sakai and Frank Miller.
Jill Thompson's credits include being a New York Times Best Selling graphic novelist, as well as winning many Eisner awards for her work on Scary Godmother, The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings and The Dark Horse Book of the Dead.

The collected trade Scary Godmother: Comic Book Stories will be on sale in stores June 15th

Beasts of Burden returns this fall! Look for their first appearance in issue #4 of the eighty-page anthology, Dark Horse Presents!, on sale in September!
